The Best Water Proof Digital Cameras in 2010

Water proof cameras are a relatively new addition to the wide range of digital camera types. They have become an instant success and are very popular in 2010. They are truly versatile with loads of features that allow an entire family to capture those unique moments in time whenever they want. Previously taking such a gadget with you to the beach was a big no-no or at least you had to exercise caution when using it. Not so now. You can actually use it for underwater photography with great success. As a matter of fact this is one of its major strengths, as compared to other similar pieces on the market today.

One of the best water proof digital cameras in 2010 is undoubtedly the Canon PowerShot D10. This piece has a 2.5" LCD screen which really is the best of its kind available nowadays. With a full 12.1 megapixels and the usual 3x optical zoom lense is a winner in every aspect. It is clod and shock resistant which makes it one of the strongest pieces of equipment available to buy this year.

The Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 is another major underwater piece at a full 12 megapixels and 3.6 wide angle optical dual image stabilized zoom. Its LCD screen is 2.7", even more than the Canon has. Besides shock proof, it is also freeze, shake and crushproof. At less than $300 a piece, this is clearly a forerunner today with lots of positive reviews for it at the various online shopping sites.

The FujiFilm FInePix Z33WP has a 10 megapixel resolution with a 3x optical zoom. With great pictures and fine videoclips this is not far behind the previous two at only $130 or so.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 has full 12 megapixes with a 4.6 wide angle optical dual image stabilized zoom. The LCD screen is at 2.7". Waterproof, dustproof and shockproof, you can take this baby safely in deep waters for clear pictures that will keep your memories for a long time. It is a bit more expensive, yet still below $300 at only $279 in most retail shops.

Finally another Olympus, the Olympus Stylus 55 WP has 10 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and a 2.5" LCD display. If you are strapped for cash, you can get this one at only around $100 or so. Amazon might have even better discounts if you check it out.

So here are my favorite 5 underwater water proof digital cameras in 2010. Each has great features with good quality photos and all can be safely used in waters. If you happen to let it fall in the water, you don't have to worry any longer about buying a new one.
